Line of Events
After his home is conquered by the tyrannical emperors who now lead Rome, Lucius is forced to enter the Colosseum and must look to his past to find the strength to restore Rome’s glory to its people. In the years following the release of the first film, there were numerous attempts to write a sequel. Their version focused on the more mythical elements of Ancient Rome, and would have seen Maximus reach the afterlife, only to be confronted by other souls who must yet ascend further. He is eventually tasked by Jupiter and other Roman deities to return to Earth to find and kill Hephaestus, an ancient deity who has betrayed them. From there, he is resurrected as a Christian and finds himself travelling back to Rome, on a mission to stop the spread of Christianity, while crossing paths with the new emperor, Lucius. The film would have ended with Maximus being cursed to live for an eternity, featuring a montage of the soldier fighting in the Crusades, World War II, and the Vietnam War, eventually revealing a modern-day Maximus working at the Pentagon in Washington. The studio decided not to go ahead with this version, but the script is available to read online.
Emperor Geta: The Gods Have SPOKEN!
Featured on The 7PM Project: Episode of July 3, 2024 (2024). I watched the premiere in Sydney. The plot is richer and more emotional than the first one. Everyone’s acting is great, Paul did a wonderful job! Denzel has a great talent for comedy and contributed a lot of funny plots. I personally feel that it is not gory at all. There are a lot of fight scenes and it is very cool.
To summarize the shortcomings: 1
The ending is very emotional and there are a lot of touching parts. Some dialogue editing changes too frequently. Personally, I don’t like this editing method. I prefer to use a slightly longer shot to focus on one person (preferably the main character) so that I can capture the slight changes in the person’s face during dialogue. 1. The sea water in front is too real to make it look fake. The sea water is too blue and perfect, which often presents the opposite effect.

2. As for historical rationality, I don’t think people at that time had a certain understanding of the concept and appearance of the god of death. S. This is a script adapted from history. There is no need to worry about the originality of the script. Therefore, it is unnecessary to worry about whether the second one is a remake of the first one. People say they want to see a sequel but don’t want the script to be too closely related to the previous one.
This statement in itself is contradictory
If we must see a completely different story, then we should list it as an original script. But the second one clearly states that it is an adaptation. You can judge the adaptation from the script, but if you are not satisfied with its originality, perhaps you should rewrite the history book.
