Art the Clown is ready to wreak havoc on the unsuspecting residents of Miles County as they fall asleep peacefully on Christmas Eve. Director Damien Leone said that several major studios showed interest in financing the film based on the unexpected success of Terrifier 2 (2022), even without a full script, but he turned them all down because he was certain they would never go out and shoot the opening scene alone, which he describes as “very controversial.” Leone commented that the only reason he can be so uncompromising in his depiction of horror and gore is because he independently finances his films, creates all of his own special effects to keep costs low, and doesn’t have a major studio breathing down his neck to make the film more mainstream. Mia mentions that the 5th anniversary of the original massacre was approaching soon, but that it happened on Halloween, and the film taking place on Christmas Day 5 years later would mean that the anniversary had only passed 2 months ago.

Good pacing can elevate even the goriest horror film
Now that we have set the stage, Terrifier 3 is going down in history, not just for its over-the-top, gory kills and shocking stunts, but because I had a lot of fun doing it. Bigger budgets don’t usually mean better, but when talented filmmakers are passionate about their work and hire an editor who knows their craft, it makes a huge difference. Art the Clown is as funny and terrifying as ever, but Victoria’s crazy performance steals the show: she’s scarier than Art.
It’s unbelievable that I’m now excited for Terrifier 4
Lauren LaVera gives her all as Sienna, portraying PTSD. She may be the most traumatic final girl ever. Art the Clown, Pennywise, and Killer Klown are just a few of the comic creatures that give us the chills.
