Following the events of Batman (2022), Oz Cobb, aka the Penguin, makes a play to seize the reins of Gotham’s crime world. From melting makeup to frozen sets, Colin Farrell and Cristin Milioti talk about how they shaped their characters during the production of ‘The Penguin.’ Colin Farrell fought hard to make The Penguin smoke in Batman (2022), but to no avail. However, in his own series, the character is depicted as an occasional smoker, preferring to smoke cigars.

I thought Colin Farrell was great as the Penguin in Batman, but I never understood how they would take a thin, good looking actor and put him in massive prosthetics and a fat suit… especially when I think he looks like some of the others famous actor.

I also didn’t really understand why this spinoff came along, and to be honest, I’m sick of Batman reboots. But after episode 1, I can confirm that this show is amazing (so far). I only watched it because I knew there was a bridge between the first and second movies and I was surprised that Farrell played a part in the first one.
But I didn’t expect to like it so much
The acting is fantastic, the writing is great, and it surprised me with some quick twists. The biggest thing I liked was that there was a lot more color in this than in Batman. I noticed it almost immediately, because the film was a huge excuse for me (it felt like I was watching it through the lens of Zack Snyder).
I hope this continues to be as good as it is going because I really can’t wait for the next episode
